DENIS SARAZHIN was born in Ukraine in 1982. He attended the Kharkov Academy of Art and Design where he graduated specialising in painting, and was awarded the 1st Degree Diploma Award for Excellence in Painting from the Ukrainian Art Academy.
He currently lives and works in the USA. The human figure has been the focal point of his work for a number of years, but his treatment of the subject is constantly evolving. A common element of his work is to focus on the body, rather than the face. “This idea comes from the impression of contemporary dance and pantomime theatre where body language is the main method to express emotion and feelings.”
His work is very textured and expressive - he works in a realistic style “with some interpretation and stylisation” where, instead of offering a complete narrative, he allows the figures to be the guides. He works in oil on canvas , often in a large format (62” x 64”).

Thank you Jenny for introducing this very talented artist , whilst his subject matter isn’t to my taste there is no denying the skill he uses to achieve such detailed work. I won’t claim to be a fan of his paintings but I admire then I am however a fan of his skills and can look at the details in his painting for ages and enjoy his work, might sound odd to like his but not what he paints . I will look at more and will select some I particularly like the look of .
