Had to wade through this morning’s sea of crap to get to this. Am I being naive in thinking that this spam should be reported to a higher authority, eg the Gov.uk phishing/spam service? All these idiots give a phone number so surely they are easy to contact.  Anyway, here are a few more lovely prints by IM. I think his hares are particularly wonderful, also his trees. This hare is called ‘Psycho’!
The hares are magical and beautifully done. I like some of the trees. Some I'm finding I'm not keen on the pallete.
Although it was one of his linocuts that first caught my eye, like Lewis I find myself surprisingly drawn more to his landscapes with their magical atmosphere and warm glow. This first one is my favourite - it also reminds me of Ann Blockley’s work. Like a lot of the artists I’ve suggested for this thread, I first came across his work on Facebook.  One or two art-related posts started popping up, and the more I took an interest in them, so more kept appearing - Facebook can be irritating but does have its benefits!

More fabulous images. On the spam - speaking with feeling, I've just removed around 60 invitations for us to engage the services of prostitutes - I have wondered if it could be reported with any prospect of success in dealing with it, but most of it comes from countries which either can't or don't particularly want to police it.  I should be delighted to be contradicted, but I don't think the UK authorities have any means of countering it.  So - we keep digging it out, but it's a particular feature of this time of year that it springs up again: I don't know why - holiday period in Bengal or Nigeria?  I don't wish to pick on such places, and of course not all of this stuff emanates from there: but a lot does.
Ah well, keep plugging away at it Robert, and thanks again to you all! I don’t do social media or any other art websites of this kind, but I do wonder if others have such constant floods of spam?
It’s obviously too easy to register… I’ve also removed a fair amount, and like Robert does I’m sure, banned the posters each time - but they just keep coming. Fortunately there are a number of us now, so they shouldn’t linger around for too long…

I was thinking today Alan that a part of the  problem is you can register and post straight away, it would be a deterrent if there was a 24 hour minimum wait. I spent the best part of a hour and a half first thing clearing spam and then did the same again later in the morning. It must have made it easier for  Robert now that there are four of us to tackle the problem.

That’s a good idea Paul, we can suggest it to Dawn.
That might help - but it depends on the patience on the spammer, doesn't it?  It would probably put some of them off - I doubt that it'd work on the more determined ones; and anyway, there's not always much by way of human input - so far as I understand bots, which isn't very far.   Anyway, what WOULD we find to do, if it weren't for our spammers ............. hollow laughter all round.
PRATIM DAS, born in 1974, is a West Bengali painter of - just about anything: but is well-known as a painter of birds.  He also paints and draws portraits, has edited an online magazine, illustrated and written several books, and has shown his work on POL in the past.  He has painted so many species of bird that you might think he'd covered all of them - but there are many more to go, and he'll probably always be on the look-out for any he's missed. To be going on with: having a little trouble with invalid file types, but will be back!
Here's another - anyone we know? LOVELY isn't it?  Not just the drawing, which is superb, but the choice of subject: don't you think?
Hmmm, looks familiar….is it one of those ‘accused in court’ drawings?! It’s an excellent portrait Robert. You must be delighted with it.
