Welcome to this weeks thread featuring Anne Tombs and Keith Bowen. Robert will start us off with his introduction to Anne Tombs and on Wednesday Sylvia will introduce Keith Bowen . Sorry for posting a bit earlier as I’m going to the pantomime with my granddaughters, such fun actually I do enjoy it , sad  I know.
BEHIND YOU
Can I suggest that you do your introduction today Sylvia and Robert post his on Wednesday, I fear he may be still feeling unwell.
Awe shucks....it's all go.... clearing drives....making lemon curd .....delivering cards...that Robert has a lot of explaining to do.   Give me a couple of hours and will do... though you explain to Sam  . No prob Paul I do hope our voluble  🐾🌹🐾🌹  Robert feels well soon.
Thanks Sylvia your a star , apology’s to Sam for disrupting his walks a extra biscuit for after dinner might do the trick.  I’m only assuming that Robert is still feeling unwell as he has not been very active on the forum for a day or so .
Yes I know I am a star. Here is my take on a lovely Artist.  Some of the pics I have photographed directly from a book so fingers crossed. Keith Bowen is a Welsh Postwar & Contemporary artist who was born in 1950 . He was born in Denbighshire north Wales... I bought one of his books some twenty years ago in Betws y Coed and was hooked.  I also did a day course one Sunday locally,  he was the tutor and mentor, he brought a lot of sheep skulls. A nice man.  A lot of this stuff here is from the Snowdon Shepherd but there is lots more for you to discover for yourself...if you want to...here goes KEITH BOWEN. A lot of sheep...baaa but the strong drawing and sense of place is a delight.  Hope you like my choice.

Well the question is do I like your choice, actually no I don’t , it’s far to good to like it to be admired and looked at and loved  He certainly catches the ruggedness of the people and the land that makes them , I’m not normally into figures but he shows the hard working people as they are to use the old saying warts and all.  I could pick more and probably will in the next day or so , certainly worth the wait Sylvia.
Nice choices Dixie...glad you like him. a LOT .
Another genius.  Love the way he paints people, especially the monochromes.
If anyone knows about drawing and painting figures it’s Lew , that’s settle it for me if he impresses Lew with his figure paintings  then he’s certainly good enough for me. Joking  aside his figure are just so good and natural looking he clearly observes closely and picks up on all the little details that make the person and it’s the age with his landscapes. I’ve not seen his work before today big thanks Sylvia , really cheered up a cold bleak afternoon and yes as the thread says inspiration from artist well I am inspired.
Some well captured rugged figures for sure. They’ve spent a lifetime outdoors in the harsh elements, and he has portrayed them so well!
I have to say I’d never heard of Keith Bowen but think his work is wonderful! He captures the grittiness and toughness of life in the farming community so well. His characters are spot on, and I do like his landscapes as well.  Thanks Sylvia, will look further.
