I’d not heard of him either, but really like his work, especially his drawings of people and animals - he has a lovely style which reflects so well the ruggedness of his subjects. A great choice, Sylvia.

Love the milkman Jenny! Here are a few I picked out because I think his painting of water is stunning.

Brilliant choice Sylvia, I am familiar with his work and It never fails to impress me. I bought a picture book called 'Snowy' to read to my grandchildren because he illustrated it.
The more I see the more I admire this artists, he can turn his hand to anything.  The landscapes are terrific, I especially like those where he paints a smaller subject...that's not well expressed...I mean like the study of a single knarled and wind worn tree in the first batch Sylvia posted.  The drawing of the milkman is sublime.
Those are two of my favourites as well Lew.  Russell he must almost be a neighbour of yours Wrexham?
Just several miles away Sylvia
What a treasure Sylvia! Positive and bold drawings, intuitive to his landscape paintings…..wonderful.
Thank you Sylvia for introducing this wonderful artist. I had not heard of him before. Those landscapes really appeal to me.
Gleurgggghhhhh = this was a very fine artist, and I've enjoyed this work, but I can't do justice to Anne right now, put me off for a week if you can, Paul, I'm feeling my age and yours on top.   Lovely work here though, and I'm enjoying it as best I can.
Sorry your feeling unwell Robert I will move Anne Toms  to another date when you are able to do her justice good sir .  There plenty artists on the list so I will pop one on the thread tomorrow . In fact I have one  Sue Campion I will introduce her artwork about lunchtime tomorrow.  Hope you made a good recovery soon Robert look after yourself and keep warm .
As you will see from the above post Robert is unwell and not able to present his choice of artwork as he would like to have done. I will present a artist that whose work I was looking at when I received Robert message.  Sue Campion RBA born in London and worked as a display artist throughout the 1960-70s .She spent time painting in Spain, Belgium , Sweden and Australia and more recently the English countryside. From 1986 - 1990 she studied fine art at Nottingham Trent University . In 2007 Sue was elected a member of the Royal  Society of British Artists. I hope you enjoy her artwork I do like her pastel paintings.
I do like her choice of subject (especially the sheep snow scenes), composition and the lovely colours she uses, but not so keen on the sometimes rather sketchy style of her pastel work, although maybe that’s actually part of its charm.
