Well Robert you have named Mr Monsted who is probably the top of my list for painting’s of trees etc. I did mention him a while ago but not on this thread I think it was a thread about our favourite artists. As he was mentioned I did not think to add him to the list but I certainly will, if I recall quite a few thought his work was to photographic, fortunately we all differ in out tastes .
As to this series of threads I find it so interesting looking up the different artists suggested and for the bonus thread , not only have I learned so much about the different artist I have seen and found different ways of painting things. It’s interesting seeing other peoples choices and hearing their views even if it’s a don’t like it especially followed by a reason.
As to thanking me there is no need as I get ax much pleasure out of its d other seem to do , I should and do thank you all for taking part and your enthusiasm. It’s nearly six months since we started the thread it doesn’t seem that long ago . Time to mention next weeks featured artists me thinks, before we get nostalgic and start back patting .
Next weeks artist are - Anne Blockley and Wilf Roberts.

Would you please let me have the names of more artist that you would like to feature. I’m sure that’s are many more out there that are worth looking at it doesn’t have to be famous artist any artist worth looking at will do . Might be good to look at some of your local artists work. I ask for names as I don’t want this to be all my selections, I tend to hog the bonus artists , I don’t want it Pauls Choices . You don’t have to suggest only favourite artists or famous ones I think some of the lesser known artist have been a delight to discover. A plea to anyone who has not joined in the discussion as yet please do suggest any artists , if you don’t want to do the intro I’m sure we can manage to do that for you . At present the list goes up to well 37 so there is plenty of time to think about artist .

Great idea about Ray Balkwill - wonderful, strong painter. You want more, Mr D ? Well then: John McCombs; James Fletcher-Watson; Wilfred Ball (if you can find any of his work, he really does seem to have disappeared); Anne Toms - a bit of bias here: she's a friend of mine, and has her own studio at Yarmouth, on the Isle of Wight; Pratim Das, who used to show his work here and is, I believe, doing well out there in Bangladesh - or maybe Bengal, geography never was my strongest point; just enough to get the O level....; Norman Battershill, who'll be well known to older readers of the Artist and Leisure Painter; R. O. Dunlop; Sir Alfred Munnings, he who hated Picasso; Graham Sutherland; John Piper; Jean Baptiste Camille Corot (my favourite painter); Buffet; Chagall; there's enough there to keep you in non-remunerative employment for many more months - and when you've exhausted them, I'm quite sure I can come up with others.

I’m sure Robert won’t mind you introducing John Piper he has quite a few there on his list to deal with . Feel free to add as many names as you want I’m sure others will agree that a good variety adds so much more interest . I think Dawn and team are happy for it to continue and hopefully it’s interesting for people who look in but done feel like contributing .

Paul, I know I’m doing an intro. for Wilf Roberts next week. Do you still have someone for Ann Blockley? I seem to recall you asked Alan Morris but it was quite a while ago. She’s a great favourite of mine so would be happy to do her as well if Alan no longer can. I do have more names, but sounds like you’ve got more than enough to be going on with, so will keep them for later. Agree with Robert, this is by far the most interesting thread we’ve had on the forum, at least as far as I can remember.

I really don’t mind you doing the intro as well Alan it would be good to have both of you chat about her . She is such a good artist I’m sure you could both offer different information. I haven’t heard from Alan for a while I hope he’s still looking in and picks up on this . Be good to have the name when we’re running low so yes hold on for now . It is really good to hear your view of the thread and it good to know your enjoying it , makes it extra worthwhile doing when folk enjoy it. As I have said before it’s quite selfish of me running the thread as I get loads of pleasure from doing it and a free art education to boot. Also you kind folk put up with my poor spelling and grammar and that I really do appreciate.
