Welcome to this weeks special thread , it a Free posting week , post a painting or two that you find particularly interesting and inspiring.
I have gone with my all time favourite artist, Peder Mork Monsted as it was his paintings of trees that really inspired me and made me want to paint trees when I first started painting. I can’t pick one individual painting as I’m inspired by all of his paintings containing trees .

I like best the first one you posted, Paul. As it’s an ‘any medium’ week, I’m posting a few paintings from my favourite digital artist, the Japanese artist and illustrator Kaoru Yamada. She has also quite recently started exploring ways of combining AI with digital, but this is some of her earlier work.

I can see why Peder Monsted is Dixie's favorite artist...astonishing work. I like Jenny's choice. I'm a fan of some digital art, and this one is excellent. I kid myself I can spot digital art, but these don't have the look. An admirable artist, that I shall explore.
Two artists who've been featured in the series...Norman Thelwell to start...
...and here's one by Ronald Searle....his cats look nothing like cats, whilst at the same time looking exactly like cats...
I have some old books for these artists, looking through them never fails to lift my spirits.
I'll look for something different later.

I would find it difficult to pick out one marine artist that inspires me as there are so many paintings I like and so many artist I admire. I have chosen three artist at random from my list of marine artists, first two are by David Curtis who I introduce a while back, the other two Yves Berube and Neil James .

And wishing everyone a Merry Crimbo
Boris Kustodiev (actually it's Shrovetime I believe)
