What a great selection so far! I was always so impressed by Ken Howard’s wonderful studio itself and the work he completed there. My  choice is Sorolla and these two. The first is of his wife and daughter, the second is Mending The Sail.

It’s been great Dixie, and Jenny. So many interesting artists who we wouldn’t have come across otherwise. Keep up the good work and thank you two in particular.
Happy Christmas to you and Jenny **- I thought I knew of a lot of artists before this series began .... never realized how many of us there really were and are: no wonder we sometimes have trouble selling: the market must be saturated! (**And everyone else, of course: but we all have to prioritize.)
¿.Thank you Robert , yes it’s surprising how many artists we have covered and there are still literally thousands more, I have a list of around three hundred thst I haven’t posted as yet .  Two of my favourite landscape artists I find both very inspiring, I do have  quite a list of them I must admit all who inspire me in different ways for different reasons. David Bellamy . Alwyn Crawshaw,  whose work really inspired me from the start . Sorry I get carried away with his work, I could fill a gallery with ones I really like .

Yes, thank you Robert - and Tessa.  Amazing how long this thread has been going and, as Paul says, plenty more artists still to come.  I think it helps that Paul and I generally have different tastes, so hopefully it keeps things varied, together of course with input from other contributors - always interesting to see which artists others choose to feature.  It can be quite time-consuming researching the different artists and preparing the write-ups, but something I enjoy doing - even if at times it makes me quite disillusioned with my own work!

Like a lot of people my first introduction to art was via the illustrations in books , in the early 1950s we relied on older books as there was t much printing going on following WW11.  Lots were very basic illustrations like the first one and then more complex ones as we grew into reading book aimed at older children. My selection is random though I’ve picked three Rackham illustrations . The second from last was added for fun .
A beautiful woodblock print from a Japanese artist whose work will be featured in early January.
Super print Jenny!  Reminds me of how Japanese artist inspire impressionists such as Monet and Van Gogh. Paul’s comment reminded me Lucy.Atwell’s books.
A gorgeous print Jenny. Thank you to you and Paul for bringing us such a wealth of artists to appreciate and inspire us.
Here are a few from North Wales Artist Keith Bowen. I love the way he captures the wildness of the landscape.
