Welcome to this weeks thread of Inspiration From Artists the featuring artists this week are : Allanson Hick and Charles Rennie MacKintosh.
I will open this evening with my introduction to Allanson Hick , on Wednesdays Jenny introduce her choice of artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Allanson Hick 1898 - 1975 was a British Architect and Painter in oil and watercolour. Born in Hull into a seafaring family,he attended the Grammar School and College of Art , from 1935 - 55 his work was accepted annually by the RA. He was a founder member of the RSMA.
Interestingly he was denied permission to join the war artists but was given permission to sketch and paint anywhere within the Humber Defences , hence a lot of WW11 marine paintings .
We could have included him in last weeks thread as he painted and designed a lot of BR poster and grave posters .
I hope you enjoy my selection of his work .

The tall ship would be a difficult task to do Tessa even for someone who sketch’s boats regularly.
He does get some superb detail into his painting and lim you Alan if registered that crane for future reference.
I did think the poster would appeal to you Jenny given your interest in them , certainly make you think about another week of looking at poster but made general travel posters next time .
