Although I said I found her work too bright, I think it’s actually that a lot of her compositions are very ‘busy’ and my eye doesn’t know where to settle. This one is very colourful, but I do like it.

There’s a lovely colourful post on the gallery by Chrissie Havers. More to my taste, restful and not detailed.
Isn’t it fabulous, I’ve just commented on it. Strangely, she receives very few comments on any of her work…
If you woke up in this environment - you'd think the nuclear bomb had landed somewhere and you had but minutes to live.  That doesn't necessarily make the work bad - but I really react against it: the artist can draw, and compose, but beyond that I've nothing much to say - do you maybe need something to say, as the artist, if you're going to exaggerate colour to this extent - is there a purpose to it?  It's painting that hasn't really much to do with place; more to do with whatever is going on between one's ears.  That's fine, but - whatever it is, it's not going  on between mine.
