One that I would put on my wall if it was big enough is her Crivelli's Garden.  Yes, it needs explanation, as did the original Crivelli it was inspired by, as do many of the Old Masters and early works. I think maybe seeing it up close makes the difference.  There are videos available, but I can't seem to post the links on here.
I saw her exhibition in the Milton Keynes Gallery a few years ago. I loved all of it for various different reasons, however explaining the paintings about abortion to my grandchildren who accompanied us to the show was a challenge, fortunately they didn’t ask too many probing questions. I have no issue that some of the pictures made me feel uneasy, but I absolutely loved her technique and skill. This pastel picture called Angel was visually stunning and very impressive. The photo doesn’t do it justice.

I’m always trying to find something different to add to the thread I came across this artist while searching for additions to the list . I won’t make any comment on her work until it been seen by others as I don’t want to have any influence on your decision.  Kathleen Buchan , has painted for many years and was a part time teacher in adult education. Her paintings range from cubist landscapes to calm reflective work. Living in Scotland she feels she is spoilt for choice of subjects from coastal villages to farmhouses and rolling fields of the countryside. Kathleen is passionate about colour and uses a variety of mixed media to capture light , texture and atmosphere in her paintings. I have picked some of her work at random and not for any particular reason.
I like them all, Paul. The second last makes me think of lying under a patchwork quilt, up against a Cubist wallpapered wall. Colours are great!
Much as I love colour, her paintings are mostly too bright and uneasy on the eye for me.  I have, though, found these painted in cooler colours that I quite like.

I'm mad about colour, too.  But I have to say these do little for me.  Art being so varied, and people's opinions being equally varied, I've no doubt many will like her work.
Double post.  Sausage fingers.

Hold on while I grab my sunglasses! Your choice Dixie makes me think of fabric pictures. Certainly different and very colourful and if I concentrate on some of the landscape compositions I find them quite pleasing, but just too over the top with colour.
I had a very similar reaction to most of you when I first looked at her paintings, ooh that’s  bright and still find it to colourful fir my taste. Like them or not she certainly has skill as a painter I try to imagine then in softer colours and most would make a landscape I like . I will have another look through and see what else I can find .
Just for interest I took one of her paintings and fiddled with the colours! I think she is one of those artists where we are not enthused because we are seeing a barrage of work all together. Maybe if we just looked at one or two we would be more impressed.  This is the fiddled version which obviously proves nothing except that her compositions are pleasant if you can see past the bright colours!
It’s looks so different toned down , I think your right Tessa it’s overwhelming to see so many together. I shan’t post anything more of her painting ps after these ,I do like the subjects but I’m put off but the brightness of the colour. That’s  down to me as I see landscapes in natural colours, the last one I’ve posted does look like a quilt to me .
