And a few by Arthur Rackham…

Edited

Oh Jenny I do love Arthur Rackham… .Midsummer's night dream?
Yes, Rackham can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned.  Actually the last pic in my post was by Rackham, I forgot to put his name on the picture.  I admire most of Hockney's work, not all, but those multi canvass assemblages posted by Alan are an absolute knockout.  I wish I'd been able to  go see them.
Sylvia, yes, the first two are Midsummer Nights Dream.  I also love his work, probably my all-time favourite artist.  And his trees are brilliant, they feature in such a lot of his illustrations.

I really like just about everything chosen so far, and am adding a few more by Ian Sidaway who I think is an exceptional artist. Great selection especially of Monsted and Rackham.
Love the Monsted's he's a favourite of mine.  And the Hockey woods was an unforgettable experience. One of Lewis's caught my eye. I had just finished watching an animation film called Song Of the Sea, sort of a fairy tale about Selkies.  Great atmosphere to it, and beautiful imagery. https://azure2.wgp-cdn.co.uk/app-painters-online/forum/0f42daab-690f-4efe-bca3-bc17c5fa0322.jpg Hoping this link comes through.
I like all the above - here are some from Anne Blockley, another style of painting.
All great art and super skills. Like Lew, I like figures in paintings as the nearer they are to photographic representation defeats the object for me.  A painting has to look like a painting, but just my view.
Once again some excellent examples, love Anne Blockley’s work . Stretching it a bit but can’t ignore the the work of  C. F . Tunnicliffe what a superb natural history artist he was sone of my chosen paintings are from the Ladybird books. I was fortunate to pick up a excellent second hand book of his work , a  Portrait of a Country Artist today for £2:50
One from an artist we looked at some time ago - Ian MacCulloch.
A few more from Monsted , I will look up some contemporary examples later today. O
Incredible set of pictures Paul - I love the snow scene. Here's a few more I like:  David Gentleman: Angela Allaway - never heard of her but found these on a trawl and liked them:
