Cavendish Morton, 1911 - 2015, was a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Oil, and of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour.  He retired to Bembridge, on the Isle of Wight, after a long career, becoming very well known here as a local character and institution. I have had a lot of connectivity problems today, but will try to add some of his works below - there's a lot of them online, which maybe you'll be able to upload more easily than I can, but Unexpected Error cropped up.
Let's see if this one loads..
Whoopee!  We'll try a few more then..
These are as large as I could persuade the site to accept - maybe this sort of thing is easier with an Ipad, but I still haven't got that working; and anyway, it may not be....

That's more like it - this is a woodcut, I think...
Worth the wait Robert.  There is something very English about his work.  Here's a watercolour I found.

Oops double post, but at least the chance to say a snip at £275 though it is only 6" x 8"

Robert thank you for your introduction to this superb artists I shall be having a look at his work later today but from what little I’ve already seen it will certainly be worth checking his work out.
This thread has a habit of throwing up some brilliant artists completely unknown to me.  Here's another whose work I admire. Here's a painting that seems to be the source for the card design shown below... I like both versions, but the illustration lover in me edges to preferring the card design. Here's a landscape that's an absolute gem... Being a fan of maritime art, how could I resist this?  The Motor Vessel 'Ruahine.' A very quick read through his info suggests he did some car designs.  He painted a few, as well. A very fine artist.
I particularly like the third one down that Lew has posted… it’s the little houses and barns, with some lovely trees - the composition and tonal values are very much in the mould of the great Rowland Hilder…
