Welcome to this weeks Bonus artist I will, make two apologies before starting one is that my selfishness in featuring this artist and for imposing quit detailed artwork on you . I have chosen Mike Jeffries a transport artist who I have admire for quite some time . I can hear the groaning already can I ask you to look beyond the fact it cars, trucks and trains etc and look at the backgrounds he paints . He shows the fashion of the times and the scenery is quite nostalgic, I do know his work will be to photographic looking for some of you but his skill is not in doubt on my mind.
I hope you find some interest in his work , apology for posting earlier I’m about to go out for the evening. This is just a random selection .

I do agree Alan I think his detailing is excellent and as you said it not overdone . I have admired his work for quite a long time not only for the vehicles but the surroundings they are set in , he clearly spends time ensuring that it’s accurately shown.
I think it’s the details of the shops , clothing etc that makes then so nostalgic. I have resisted forcing him on you good folk up till now. Thee very good choices I do like the top two a lot.

Blessedly free of unnecessary clutter, and as you all observe, the period details are right, too. I wouldn't call this work 'photographic' - it's all a matter of definition and opinion, of course - but I'd go with 'representational': a treasure trove for the transport enthusiast, which I'm not, but I could be!

His work is undoubtedly excellent and I think probably takes most of us back to our childhood when everything was simpler. He has a great array of vintage vehicles and as has been said, pays great attention to detail both in subject and background. My first thought in seeing his work was ‘jigsaws’, not necessarily a bad thing, as I do like a good jigsaw!
Maybe this is partly a male/female thing, but while I could enjoy seeing these on someone else’s wall or gallery, I wouldn’t want one on mine.
