Hi Everyone - lovely to meet you, I have just joined. Orginally from Eire I now live on the west coast of Scotland. I am self taught and used to do a lot of drawing and painting as a child but gave it up as I went into the adult world. About 10 years ago I took up photography which can be seen on my website  www.anluchtlonrach.net but as I reached my 60th year I wanted to do something creative without technology - so I took up my pencils and paintbrush again. I am not a great artist - I just do it for pleasure.   Calms the mind and lets you slip into a better world. Looking forward to seeing other people's art. Thanks for taking time to read this. Welcome Linda, good to hear that you have picked up drawing and painting again. It’s a good site to be on and you will find people very friendly, there is the odd person that bites sometimes.  Be good to see some of your art work, it’s also a good place for help and advice , do  enjoy the forum and your painting .

Yes, welcome to the site Linda. Don’t be afraid to ask for advice, or if you have any questions on whatever medium you’re using, there’s always someone willing to share their knowledge... myself included!

Welcome Linda! I am sure you will enjoy the forums and Painters online! We are a friendly bunch and I am sure you will enjoy the interactions. There are often monthly challenges to participate which I find that taking part has improved my sketching and drawing and renewed my love of creating art. Look forward to seeing your work!

Hi Linda, and welcome to the forum :) I normally roam the frozen North of England but I’m on holiday in Scotland at the moment, and visited Kirkcudbright today as part of our mini Wicker Man locations tour. As an art town though, it’s really fired me up visiting the galleries and seeing so much creativity!  Anyway, have fun here and I hope you find it as friendly and useful as I have. Anth.
