A truly up to date review of the art scene, how it jumped from media to installation and articles on whether or not there really is something for the traditional artist to learn from the contemporary arts scene. It seems to me there is a real schism between media painting and the current trend for installation art. The Saachi TV programme has given some insight but it crosses the chasm all too quickly. There was a young painter rejected early on who was dismissed because she did representational work. I could get an inkling why after watching a couple of episodes but it seems to me there is too little discussion of that leap. It is a bit like the Jean-Paul Sartre leap into Existentialism! Can't we have some discussion and sharing of ideas from the exponents who are surely able to provide a forum or Q A sessions so that everyone can understand the progression?
