I like painting on watercolour paper – I has quite different qualities to canvas as it can be very smooth. This is part of my series of pond, tarn and loch paintings. There is something fascinating about the sudden appearance of a subtle level of shining water there between the trees, reflecting the sky, the clouds and the leaves. Sometimes, as in this painting, you can hardly see the water at all. The painting is on sized and primed handmade heavy weight 350 GSM watercolour paper. Size of painting 297mm x 420mm 12 x 16 inches
