Trials and Tribulations of an Artist Painting with Wax

Hi all, Yesterday I was all geared up for a day of painting in my relatively new studio space. What with moving in and workshop preparations taking my time so far this year I have not had a full painting day yet . Well I was up early ish all enthusiastic for my day and set off mid morning to my studio 10 mins away from home. When I got there I realised there was some tidying up to do after my last workshop when everything was dumped in the studio as it was getting late. Soooo with the light streaming in the windows I knuckled down to tidying up. After about an hour or so I was ready to paint.........how wrong was I. As some of you may know to paint with encaustic waxes you need electricity. I plugged in the radio ...nothing, I tried the lights ....nothing, I looked at the fuse box......dead. OOOOOOOOOH NOOOOOOO. After contacting my studio landlord (who was on his way back from Cornwall) and two hours later I was all powered up and ready to go. Time now 2pm.. My painting day turned into a painting afternoon. I managed to get a painting almost finished for my son's new flat . Due to the day being an afternoon I had to stop before it was finished so I am look ing forward to next time I can get to the studio to finish it for him. When it is finished I will upload it here.
