Travel Journals. I love them. I first started illustrating in them in 2005 during a 7 month solo motorcycle ride overland to Nepal. It suddenly dawned on me that I could capture scenes that I'd seen on the road with pen and watercolour. These hundreds of sketches went on to become the Cult classic in motorcycling circles - 'Tea with Bin Laden's brother'. More of that in future posts.. For now, I'm challenging myself to come up with a painting a day throughout the month of May. Here's the first compilation.
