The week in apples and lemons

We had an incredibly slow week at work, and although it is Easter (and as such school holidays) in our department it was TOO quiet for my liking. That usually means something nasty is going to hit the fan when our backs are turned (or when we have almost expired from boredom). Since it was almost catatonic at work, it was just as well my body decided to come down with something like a cold crossed with being run over by a herd of elephants. It meant I got to go home early with no work to keep my mind occupied. It also meant that other commuters shied away from me as I looked like the gorgon's long lost sister. Oh the joys. Anyway, back to the point of the narrative. Thursday started out much the same as the rest of the week had. Me, not feeling ill enough to stay at home and not feeling alive enough to be of any use at work, struggled in anyway. I say struggled in, weaved, stumbled, sneezed and puffed was probably a better description. There was no work to greet me. Great, means I can probably leave even earlier and get to bed at a reasonable time (not that I can sleep but the thought is there). With the internet thoroughly exhausted (trust me, there is only SO MUCH internet surfing one can do at work) I grabbed the work sketch pad (just in case we actually get a "creative" job that requires artistic skill) and arranged the apples and lemons that have been staring at me all week and just drew. Its not too bad, a bit skewed but that is because I am slouched in the chair the the pad is a long way down the desk, too lazy and tired to sit properly. So I guess its not too bad, if you look at it from a certain angle. I've put a detail in here and the whole page is in my gallery. And of course we got a whole day's worth of work four hours before home time. Typical - no going home early on the one day I really needed it!
