The Long Lost Articles!

It’s coming to the end of my second week cataloguing the magazines and I have almost finished! Even though I have really enjoyed doing the cataloguing I am relieved to have a change of scenery for the next week coming! From next week I will be inputting all the information that I have collected over these past two weeks into a spread sheet onto the computer which I am quite relieved about because I’m not too bad with using a computer, if I do say so myself! I found a very interesting article as i was cataloguing the 1989 magazines and i came across a name that was very familiar, Sally Bulgin, seeing as now she is the editor of the magazine i thought that i would have to look into this and see what it was all about! The title of the article was 'Doug Binder in conversation with Sally Bulgin' where she talks with Doug about his childhood and who inspired him which I found fascinating, in the June issue of The Artist in 1989, I went to go ask Sally for her take on the interview but when I went to ask her she had no recollection of any of it! 'It was 24 years ago!' sally exclaimed in, which in her defence is a very valid point! ‘I was flown out to Spain all expenses paid and it was a wonderful interview!’ these were Sally’s comments on an interview that she could actually remember! Which was in the October issue of The Artist in 1989 and ‘Bilbao: An artist’s palette, Sally Bulgin outlines Astrid Balinska’s career.’ Balinska’s work intrigues me a lot and makes me want to produce work similar to hers but admittedly it isn’t to everyone’s taste!0 Maybe if Sally was flown somewhere nice for the Doug Binder conversation she might have remembered it! I hope you enjoyed this short blog and I hope you found out a bit more about our Editor and more about the work I am doing! Millie
