THE BEST LAID PLANS.

THE BEST LAID PLANS.

THE BEST LAID PLANS.

Prepared for this morning's class. At the request of 2 members I set up exercises on colour mixing and painting flowers. Guess what!, neither of them turned up. Spent most of 2 hours advising on own projects, which is sometimes a strain. Not least on the back. Eventually raided the kitchen for articles to set up a still life arrangement for those who had, waiting for drying time, to sketch. Not my day, I was whisked off for lunch, quite a distance. Ordered large portion of fish & chips with mushy peas and was presented with a fish of tiddler proportions. After himself brought the matter to the attention of the landlord he arranged for extra fish to be served. I thought this was most considerate of him. Dessert was duly ordered. I fancied a helping of Lemon Meringue Pie with whipped cream. Guess what! They didn't have any (GRRRRR). We had already paid for it and I had to choose something else. Ordered Apple Pie & Custard which came at a higher price but they wouldn't let me pay the difference although I offerred. I think they deserve a plug. The pub is called 'The Bird In Hand' and is in the village of Blidworth, Nottinghamshire. Not far from Patchings. So if you're over that way, drop in the food is excellent really, we go there as often as we can considering the distance from home. The picture is of the worksheets prepared for today. A simple sketch of wild roses for painting and a colour chart using a limited palette. Just to show what I wasted my time on this week. It's a pity that you can't click on the pic's and enlarge them a little so that they can be seen better, isn't it?
