Now some words about the Subject - "Tint". What is tint? Tint is related with the shade layer or tone. Tint is mainly understandable in the world of colors. One side of it is mixing white with any other colour to create the dimension of the light level or appearance. And other side is mixing black or other deep colours with a color to create the effect of the shades and shadows. Generally when we do watercolour its against the tradition that mixing white with any color. In case of water color, this work is done with using lots of water rather than white color. Effectively use of tint is found in oil, oil pastel, dry pastel, gouache etc. medium. A skilled artist can perform this tint effect on the pencil shades also with the changing of tones . If an artist work with lots of "monochrome" [paint a picture using a single color], then this tint and tone comes in control. Or in other words its become easy to understand this term. In future, we will discuss in detail about this topic when we work with watercolor. To see all the previous tutorials visit the page “Pratim’s Sunday Drawing Class”
