This past year has been strange in many ways. I have learnt a lot about myself for one thing and have found a new confidence in my art. I have always been prepared to try new things but only recently have identified a fear of failing or rather not being prepared to give myself time to learn a new skill. So any workshop included a high dose of anxiety - very tiring. I have also listened too hard to negative comments and taken them to heart and tended to ignore the positive and encouraging comments. So a new year and a new resolution. To listen and learn from all comments - to remember that sometimes people have an agenda or think they are being witty by making comments that they - perhaps - do not realise are hurtful and destructive - but mainly to evaluate my work honestly and to rely on my own opinions.
