I seem to have been drifting aimlessly for the past couple of months with my art so have decided to give myself a goal to work towards. I normally have an Open Studio in the autumn but as things are so uncertain in the present economic, I have decided to give it a miss this year. I find that taking part in Open Studios gives an incentive to work for a purpose but without that, it is all too easy to become complacent. Art takes a back seat and procrastination takes over. I have always had a love of the countryside and trees in particular, so it seemed a good subject to take a closer look at. I have begun by doing some small sketches of trees which I hope to carry through into watercolours and then, possibly, into embroideries. A long term project to really immerse myself into.
