Plein Air in Shanghai with Soltek Easel

I started oil painting here in Shanghai in January 2013 and find it more satisfying and forgiving than watercolour. The texture and aroma of the oil paint adds another dimension to the whole experience. I am an excited owner of the Soltek easel...i call it the "Ferrari" of easels because set-up and pack-up is fast and easy. it's my husband's gift to me for several birthdays and Christmases..it's pricey but worth it! I use it on table top as well, really verstile!

Hi Julian, I was very pleasantly surprized that you have a blog. I do enjoy outdoor painting too especially when the weather is nice. You can often tell immediately when a painting has been created outdoors. Many thanks for comments on my painting. I was totally bowled over! Best regards, Colleen

I love the thougt of you using your hat as a water pot. It has been so hot here, I dare say you might just put it on water and all when you had finished to cool off.
