Today we presented Ingrid, Leisure Painter editor, with her very special birthday present. A little late but she knew it would be coming at the end of the Patchings exhibition. February Snow, Rolvenden by Fran Russell caught the eye of the judges winning the Winston Oh award this year, but particularly caught Ingrid's eye and she fell in love with this lovely little oil painting of a scene not far from the office. As it was a special birthday we all decided to club together and buy it for her as a surprise! She was thrilled last month when we told her and gave her a photograph of the painting which was still being exhibited in Nottingham. But today the real thing arrived and she was overwhelmed - especially as we had another birthday cake to accompany the gift! You can never have too many cakes we say!
