Paper Trail

How difficult do you think it would be for a well know art suppliers to send me an order of Fabriano paper? It isn't rocket science - you place the order, you pay for the order, they deliver the order and you paint on the paper. Simples? Not a bit of it. I ordered 3 sheets of Fabriano Artistico 140lbs NOT paper from Jacksons Art about ten days ago. It turned up, but the parcel contained Hot Pressed paper not NOT. I phoned Jacksons, who said they would send out the correct paper and they also arranged to collect the paper sent in error. All sorted one would think. Not so, as they didn't collect the paper on the arranged day, but two days later. However, bingo - they do deliver the replacement, and supposedly correct paper. Wrong! What they actually sent was more Hot Pressed paper. Grrr.. I phoned them and asked if the person picking the paper knew the difference between HP and NOT paper and was told that 'this was probably the problem' - err, what?? In the meantime, the Fabriano 300lb I had really wanted (rather than the 140lb which is far too light) came back into stock at Jacksons. I ordered three sheets to be sent out as soon as possible. I also arranged for my order of 140lb to be cancelled,as I would rather use the 300lbs. which I had ordered. All this was arranged (or so I thought) and I heaved a sigh of relief and sat back to await the arrival of my 300lb paper. So what turned up today - flipping140lb paper, but it was at least NOT and not HP so I suppose I should be grateful for small mercies. The delivery of the 300lb paper apparently, Jacksons tell me, was delivered to me yesterday. However, I haven't seen hide nor hair of it and you surely can't fail to see a socking great cardboard box with imperial sheets of paper in it arriving at your door (or can you??!). Nothing with the neighbours either. So, where am I now - I have 2 sheets of 140lb paper, which I don't want. I have three sheets of HP paper (which they gave me in the end as they couldn't be bothered to collect the second lot sent in error), which I don't want and no 300lb paper, which I desperately want so as to get on with some painting. If this tale has confused you, then I can assure you that explaining the whole sorry tale to a raft of different agents at Jackson has been like wading through a barrel of treacle and has, at times, descended into farce. No sure what I am going to paint on now . Anyone know if the surface of Andrex Aloe Vera loo paper takes paint well?
