I wanted to paint irises, so I have been given one by a friend. It needs to live in a pond, but I don't have a pond. It's in a blue plantpot ... which matches it's colour. I've photographed it to paint it, but maybe this weekend, if the sun shines I will try it live. In the meantime, I've gone back to my favourite instant sketching as I have run out of watercolour tubes in lemon yellow and indigo. More stocking up tomorrow. Sketches at the moment are on cotton rag paper ( very absorbent) with felt pen and wash. Gratifyingly bright and colourful!
