I have just received my Artist magazine and experienced a mega achievement to be published as the Star letter for March. I read the magazine regularly being inspired by other artists' work and styles and use of media. I have added this painting as a sight which was my inspiration for a run of birds in composition paintings including: Birds on beaches, on pebbles, in crofthouse windows and finished with being shortlisted for an International competition with Patchings Art Competition in 2009 with Ring Plover on Snail Shells. There is unbelieveable bird sightings here on the Hebrides with every species you can imagine. We have a garden full of doves, starlings by the hundreds, an occasional robin, chaffinches, wheatears, etc. I have observed gulls and waders by the hundreds on the beaches of Harris and Lewis. I am a keen twitcher.
