Portrait will be finished today. Last bit of Christmas run around this morning- only to get home and realise that will still need to do more running around tomorrow (huh). Couple of hours sunlight left to finish the black background and sort out the menu on the wall. Am really chuffed with it so far, think it's the best likeness I have ever done. Here's a piccy of it up till yesterday. Have decided to tackle the next path picture with oil pastels. I have a really large box of Sennelier pastels that I have hardly used and I really need to get to grips with them. It's the perfect time to give them ago. I do like the idea of having a few projects on the go. I tend to work on one picture at a time but it does feel more refreshing to have a couple on the go and stops that temptation to overwork pictures.
