JUST A FEW NOTES

Thanks for the comments on, 'WE HAVE LIFTOFF' Patsy, Max & Phil. I have been transported to a couple of local exhibitions over the weekend. Saturday we went to see the Arnold Group's works. As usual a varied range of talents and some excellent paintings, enjoyable chat and the coffee & buns were good. Great organisation. Sunday we took a pleasant drive over to Kirby Bellows for their Group's exhibition. They have quite a few professional members. Tony Slater, Tim Fisher & David Weston to name the 3 I recognised. The works on display were mostly excellent and there were a lot of red spots about, enjoyed chatting. The exhibition has overflowed into the church so there were lots to see. The coffee was somewhat weak but the cappuccino cake was enjoyable. Great organisation with a nicely presented printed catalogue. Took the scenic route home through the valley of Belvoir and called in to see how my youngest brother is faring. He & his lovely wife have recently taken over management of a pub in their village and we have promised to go and try the chef''s handiwork soon. ~ The Arts Group Exhibition is hanging in Durban House, not in the gallery but in the conference rooms and hallway so it should be seen by a lot of people who might not go into the gallery. We are beginning to feel hopeful about the future of Durban House and are busy planning for the D.H. LAWRENCE FESTIVAL. Begins 27th.August ~ Ends 30th. September. Lots of events in the planning stages. Will keep you all informed. The weather has been good for the past 2 days but today is dull, wet & cold so we're staying indoors. Boring........... Have to think about getting lunch now. BACK LATER. The picture of Lillies is on the gallery for a better view.
