It is always good fun to be able to meet artists and others in the Fine Art world....to chat about art. The artwork on show at this trade fair was fantastic. I went there to give my presentation and luckily that all went well....there were even lots of questions from the audience. The most challenging part of the day? Trying to get in the building! I packed my trolley with paintings, stretched paper on board for a demo, paints, brushes etc and carried my a large oil painting and a large easel....and my bag, handbag etc! All would have been fine...but when I got to the gate in the car park (a lifting barrier type gate) it was locked...and I had to nearly bend double to get each item underneath! Having achieved that, I carried on for a few minutes until my trolley hit a bump and everything fell off. I could almost see the security camera up on the nearby building following me and I was sure they were having a good laugh! I was rescued by a security guard...and then joined by another...and arrived with a little team of people carrying my goods. The presentation was the easy bit.... Don't ask how I managed to pack up and get it all home. The joys of being an artist!
