Going Downhill All The Way

I had a dream the other night, of a scene I wanted to paint in the morning - I'd scribbled down the basics before going back to sleep, and thought it would work well. Perhaps it will, in the end. But dreams do have a nasty habit of editing out inconvenient detail - in this case, I was standing at the top of a lane which went steeply downhill: and can I paint it? Can I fairy-cakes! I've taken up three pages of my sketchbook so far, trying to get the precise angle (of course, it WASN'T precise at all in the dream) - I was viewing myself sideways on, if that makes any sense; and yet had a view down the lane as well, which I could only have got in reality if I were hovering some 5 feet or so in the air. A problem of multiple vanishing points, basically ..... I shall persist, but drawing/painting something going downhill isn't easy - if you're not careful, it looks as though you're going uphill instead... why do I share my inadequacies with you lot, eh? I'm hoping my next dream will at least offer me something simple, rather than this geometrical sort of puzzle - how about posting a few drawings or paintings showing a downhill path, just to give me a tip or two (eg, so I can steal them......)?
