I have now completed the three year practical Art Course at the end of 2006. It was very disciplined and challenging, but that was very good, as it developed an art routine. This year is my first as an independent artist. To give myself a challenge, I have booked a gallery for 2 weeks in November for my second solo exhibition. My theme will be: Journeys of the Heart. I will use our photo references from wonderful holidays here in South Africa, Namibia, Zlimbabwe and Lesotho. Also our visits to the UK and some countries in Europe. I had 43 paintings for my first solo exhibition last year November as part of our 3rd year curriculum. My theme then, was La Dolce Vita. Any paintings that are not sold from this exhibition, will be able to hang under this year's theme. I was very blessed to have 16 paintings sell at last year's exhibition. I enjoyed working in different mediums and will do so again for this year's exhibition. My goal is 50 paintings in various sizes to accomodate the market. Many people live in small homes and can only hang a small canvas. I personally enjoy painting on larger boards/canvasses.
