Many of my pieces are inspired from Yorkshire landscapes, particularly in the Yorkshire Dales. I remember my first visit to the picturesque village of Kettlewell in the Dales. As we travelled along the Bolton Abbey route trailing the River Wharfe I realised that the landscape was iconic and breath-taking. During the return journey home, dramatic rain clouds appeared from the west and the whole landscape was bathed in a magical blue light, the same dramatic light transformations that have excited so many artists and photographers. My inspiration has not ceased and I still gasp at the county’s wonderful natural beauty.”​ With some subjects I enjoy the experience in creating a metamorphosis of an image, from digital photograph to a piece of fine art.
