Biography

Artist and photographer, Tony Walling, studied fine art, photography and graphics at Medway College of Art in Rochester, Kent. For over 20 years he ran his own design consultancy in London’s West End. He moved with his family to Harrogate in North Yorkshire in 1989. Tony Walling Creative Arts is a website featuring his digital Photography, Digital art, Fine art, and instructional Video Walks ‘HIDDEN PICTURES. The subjects are mostly inspired from nature and manyin the Yorkshire Dales which is 15 minutes away. Tony recalls, "As a Londoner I remember my first visit to Kettlewell in the Dales, nearly 25 years ago, as we travelled along the Bolton Abbey route trailing the River Wharfe. The landscape was iconic and breath-taking. During the journey home, dramatic rain clouds appeared from the west and the whole landscape was bathed in a magical blue light, the same dramatic light transformations that have excited so many artists and photographers. Since then, my inspiration has not ceased and I still gasp at the county’s wonderful natural beauty. With some subjects I enjoy the experience in creating a metamorphosis of an image, from digital photograph to a piece of fine art. The methods I employ and the evolution created by the sequence of creative events, often results in multiple pieces of work emanating from the original source. Taking an image right through to finally applying 'real' media such as oil or acrylic is time consuming but magical transformations often happen along the way".
