First Lady of the Season

Spring has definitely sprung we had a lovely warm day today and we expecting 30 degrees at the weekend...I had the front door open to catch a breeze and the dogs were giving that something is there bark...I had a look and there was my Bob Tail Lizard which had come to my garden to do her breeding...they can move quite quickly when it's warm so I grabbed the camera and got a reasonable picture...they are well camouflaged so she was a bit hard to find...she posed nicely for me and didn't give me a hiss...I used the zoom so the photo isn't as good as usual...all the wildlife is now on the move...we have had our usual snake warnings from our council but we do watch out for them at this time of year...we do get baby snakes heading back to the golf course so we watch where we step in November when they are expected to hatch...last year our neighbour warned us that he saw a snake make it's way into our garden...we have never seen her only her babies so she must lay and run...neglectful Mother which I'm glad of it's easy to avoid a baby but not so easy to avoid an adult which just wants to get back to the bush...so it's get out of my way or I'll bite... we live close to a golf course which houses heaps of wildlife including kangaroos which sit on the greens at dusk...hope you like her as much as I do and I don't freak you out.
