This is an interesting one. A lot of magazines, articles etc. encouraging people to paint suggest copying advertisement photos, or photos from magazines and papers, but it appears this is infringement of copywright. I wonder what the originators would think about this, after all it is a compliment to their work and would perhaps cause it to be seen by others. One sometimes sees photos from years ago so how could one get permission? Any suggestions on this front, as I have a photo I would like to paint from but would not wish to offend or indeed cross the line!
