When I was on the course in Burford with Charles Reid back in May, he said that he was staying on for a few more days to film a new DVD with Townhouse Films. Always eager for a new DVD from the master, I phoned Townhouse today and they say that the DVD is due for release in September. Yippee, I thought! The interesting thing is that this DVD is very different from his others, which have been mainly on portraits, flower painting and a seascape one filmed at Pin Mill. This time it is in sketchbook format - a series of vignettes from around the Cotswold area, which sounds really interesting and inspiring. I can't wait to see it as I know that Charles will put his unique skills with watercolour into painting some wonderful scenes. Just thought I would mention this for those who like CR's work and also those who have shown an interest in his work after reading my blog of the course week and seeing at his demo paintings. As usual, Townhouse will put a demo video clip on the site when they release the DVD, so people will be able to 'try before they buy' - always helpful when DVD's are expensive. I shall wait with bated breath!
