For the past few years, I seem to have drifted away from my paints and brushes. In a certain sense this void has caused me to become much more aware of my surroundings and observations, of the need to become active with any form of art again. Lately I have become fairly engrossed with photography and this venture has filled a big gap. Yet, the desire to draw and paint again have only become stronger, and many of the images produced by the photography were done in such a way that I could actually see them as paintings ... While visiting with us, my daughter-in-law asked for a few paintings of old houses, and perhaps that is just what I needed to get back into 'it' again! I've since started looking for suitable examples, have found a few, and have started to make sketches - what a relief to feel at home once more! As soon as there is something to show, I will do so and ask for advice.
