painting jazz reading
I have been painting seriously since retiring in 2000.
I'm basically self taught, but have attended various courses and am a member of Dulwich Thursday Painters and Bromley Art Society. Have exhibited at various galleries and club shows, and got a commended at the Patchings competition in 2007.
My favourite subject is still life in acrylics or oils, but I also do landscapes in ink and watercolour.
I love jazz music and have been listening to jazz since I was about 12 along time back. Also like mainstream classical music.
I read a lot mostly crime and historical fiction. Till I retired I ran a model railway import business. and I still am a railway enthusiast though I find painting railways very difficult.
Favourite painters include Cezanne, Matisse, Monet, Boudin, the Scottish Colourists.
Now you know something about me.
