Venice

I am a 55 year old amateur painter, wife, and mother of a grown up daughter. I have never had a lesson, and I love to produce photorealistic works, despite the fact that modern tastes have gone more towards the abstract. I really enjoy all the fine detail in architecture and landscapes. My painting of Venice is the first thing I have done that hasn't been commissioned - despite that, the original sold even before I could get it framed. I am very new to the commercial side of things, and would appreciate any constructive advice. I am just learning about how to go about producing prints. At present, I am working on a series of paintings of wild flowers, the first of which will be on this site next week. I still have five commissioned works to do, so I'm being kept busy, as I work 38 hours a week as an administrator for a mental health charity, so have tried to discipline myself to paint for two hours every evening.

I'm teh same; if I miss checking for a few days I miss lots of pictures and don't have the time to go through all the galleries but it's a shame because we seem to have so many newcomers who could do with some encouragement.

Very often I do not see the paintings intered in the gallery since they do not stay long on the front page ! I will have a look now at your gallery Dianne. XXX

Welcome back to posting Diana, I agree It is worth leaving a comment in any gallery you stop-off in so to speak, it must be absolutely soul destroying to have posted your best ever effort a year ago and to find that still no one has commented. At least a simple comment gives it's owner a viewer count (that is still sadly lacking from this site).
