Ings village lies on the busy A591 road from the M6 to Windermere. Blink and you would miss it, as most motorists do after they notice the speed camera ahead. The village comprises a church, village hall, about 100 cottages and outlying farms, and a micro-brewery inn, the Watermill. We stayed at the Watermill for a few winter breaks, after the Lakes had been badly hit by blizzards and floods, as the inn is just off the main road to the motorway and not as remote as our usual choices. It’s a traditional Lakes pub with the usual friendly mix of locals, walkers, tourists and their dogs enjoying a very wide choice of beers from the inn’s micro-brewery and quality food. Advert over, the local walks hold many subjects for my sketchbook, some of which are shown here.

Thank you for your continuing appreciation, and puns, Michael. It's certainly one of my favourite pubs in Ingland.
