A pictorial alphabet of favourite places around England – F for Felixstowe Ferry
A pictorial alphabet of favourite places I've sketched and painted around England .
Felixstowe Ferry is on the Suffolk coast, 2 miles from the huge container port of Felixstowe, and couldn’t be more different. A small fishing hamlet clustered round a pub, 2 cafes and a small ferry crossing the mouth of the River Deben to Bardsey, it neatly combines a working boatyard with tourism. A walk on the coastal path takes you between the beach, with its beach huts and refreshment kiosks, and the golf course, past a Napoleonic Martello tower and a collection of quirky houseboats in the muddy creek. Lots of subjects for the artist here.
