4 Brushes 9 Colours & 1 Maniac

There's a pretty large studio outside!

Hi everyone in painting land! My love of the outdoors, I dare say like many of us, prompted me to pick up the brush and have a go at it, as it were. Having had no formal instruction in art, my approach and results were, to begin with, a little on the slightly abmismal side! However the desire to translate and capture some of the places and beautiful feelings one experiences when walking/exploring the outdoors (not to mention the country pubs!) left me determined to at least acquire a modicum of ability and try to record these with the soulful medium of watercolour. The majority of the time sketches abounded, though in recent months I have found the confidence to take on full watercolour paintings out of doors. I welcome any comments good or bad as this pastime is simply too invigorating to worry about anyones ego. I hope you are all enjoying this site as much as I am. Best regards Chris (Cabbycabbage)

Hi Linda thanks for answering my prolific questions about the IOW...I found it intriguing how many people seem to be moving there...I live in Perth on the West Coast of Oz lovely city but I still have such a yen for the old country even though I have lived here since1971..we have close relatives who live in Kendal...good painting country again thankyou I know from reading your blog that you are a busy lady

I am very pleased to read more of your blog...I suppose the cost(s) of visiting the IOW also keeps the tourists at bay?
