Umm... I didn't know the 'Aldi' species of tulip before :) ! They are really good and I like the entwined bits I think it adds a sort of creepy feeling, which adds to what you are trying to portray (given your title!), i.e. it makes the painting more than just a good flower painting, gives it another dimension

Oil on canvas. Springtime is (sort of) here - if you ignore the rain, wind, sleet and snow, so time to do something spring-like. Inspired by the wonderful Russian floral painter, Igor Levashov I was armed with a bunch of two quid Aldi tulips and my bedroom wallpaper for inspiration, off I went and this is the end result. Measures 24" x 18". What do you think? All comments welcome.
