I saw this and instantly went' 'awww' as at a glance I understood the feelings and felt empathy. This painting touched me.

The fourth etching in my Old Blokes In Boozers series. This image can be interpreted in many ways and when I had painted it I had no idea what to name it, so threw it out there on a facebook forum. After over 100 suggestions I eventually went with the current title. It just tells an all too familiar sad tale that many people will endure later in life, even though this was in the past. The dog gazing at his master, missing his mistress too.
