This is wonderful. The light and the colour is so absolutely Edinburgh. Great perspective and composition too. I love it.

Walking down towards Grassmarket in Edinburgh I turned to see the sunlight picking out Edinburgh Castle between a gap in the buildings. I had moments to snap the scene with my pocket camera before the light faded. This oil painting is on a canvas board 10x8 inches and is destined for a group exhibition at Hopetoun House near Edinburgh opening Good Friday 3rd April 2015.
