Lovely vibrant paintings. Best regards Paul

Thanks Paul, vibrancy is the aim! Caroline.

Wow Caroline, I love your use of colour. I have looked through all your folders and am very impressed with all your work. Your watercolours have the vibrancy and composition of a Shirley Trevena painting, and your landscapes put me in mind of Kurt Jackson's wonderful paintings. Hope you don't mind me making comparisons - I absolutely love both these artists' work, so consequently envy your talent!!

Thanks for your comments Julie, I like both Shirley Trevena's work and Kurt Jackson's! (Amongst many others I should add) Although I acknowledge many influences, I hope that my work is sufficiently my own. I'm drawn very much to artists that use watercolour in vibrant and dynamic ways. Not for me the tranquil landscapes and seascapes I'm afraid! Thanks again, Caroline. (P.S. more on my website, www.carolinekaye.com)

Hi Caroline - I have just looked through your images again and found your previous responses to comments made so sorry to have duplicated! I came to art a few years ago and have dabbled in acrylics and mixed media (as well as textiles). Like you I love vibrant watercolours although I am not very good at it myself but inspired by the recent Shirley Trevena dvd I will probably have another go now that the gardening season is drawing to a close! I am also inspired by the bold use of colour in Anuk Naumann's work. I did an 'A' level in art as a mature student alongside a sixth form group (I used to work in a school library), and had a wonderful couple of years. What I didn't get from the course though was the tuition I so greatly wanted. However I now regularly attend a life drawing class and my drawing and observation skills have improved greatly. I also discovered soft pastel last year - hence my life drawing folder. Last week I branched out into collage and acrylic for change. Just wish I had discovered all of this years ago. I shall now have a look at your website ...
