Hello Beryl I have looked at all your work and love them all, A Resting Place is my favourit. I have great trouble with my watercolours I can never get that soft washed out look.

Hello David, thank you for your lovely comments on my paintings. I know exactly what you mean, it doesn't always work for me either, the only tip I can pass on is use plenty of water and once the color is dropped in leave it alone, no fiddling (time to make a cup of tea) and let the paint do it's work on the paper, sometimes you can work the paint by moving the board (if the paper is stuck down on a board) perhaps to get most of the paint into a certain area. It is practice and more practice.

i like this it looks very simplified but i like the angle of perspective..chris

Nice work Beryl. You got nice perspective and a very peaceful feeling here!

Thank you Chris and Kay,

Hi Beryl this is the painting that I caught on the Forum and wrote your name down...lovely work the grey of the the stone or slate floor is beautiful and the perspective is spot on...I also read your tip about leaving the watercolour paint to do it's job and make a cup of tea...I shall take that on board I'm newly back to painting after a break of 20 odd years and I could tell anyone how to do it but putting it into practice is another thing...so thank you for that advice
